I've been hired by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto to oversee a research project on bisexual people's experience of mental health within the province of Ontario, Canada.

This is a three year project, and I hope to interview about 800 bisexuals across the province. If you like, I'd be happy to share the results of the study with you when they're available. Just email me and say you're interested in the results, but be aware they won't be available for several years.

Right now I'm putting together an advisory committee to help guide the project, and am looking for bisexuals from all over Ontario to join this committee. Details are below. read more about the studyCollapse )

Dear all, our Positive Psychology team at the University of East London (headed by Ilona Boniwell) is working on a new inventory to measure psychological well-being. It is based on a number of existing conceptions and is called Integrated Well-Being Scale. We are desperately looking for some participants, and I am inviting you to participate in this research by completing the scale, which takes about 20 minutes.

Good news: because we need to gather a large number of responses in a very short time, we are conducting a random prize draw to encourage participation. Once you complete the Integrated Well-Being Scale, you will be included into the list of participants, three of whom will win Amazon gift vouchers worth 50, 40 and 30 pounds sterling. The prize draw is open until June 15th.

I will be grateful if you could help us by filling out the questionnaire. It is placed in the Positive Psychology Online (click here to access) section of our website (requires a short registration). This research has been approved by the UEL School of Psychology Ethics committee. Please do not hesitate to contact me (mail to: research (at) positivepsychology.org.uk) if you have any questions. Thank you!

Undergraduate Research Participants Needed: Personality Perceptions on Social Networking Sites

The purpose of this study is to examine the similarities or differences between self reported personalities and perceived personalities on social networking sites.

As a participant, you will be asked to provide basic demographics and your education background. You will then view screenshots of four MySpace pages and rate each individual’s personality dimensions based on what you see on his or her page.

Approximately 15 to 30 minutes should be allotted to complete this survey.

Please note you must be over the age of 18 to take this survey and some MySpace pages could contain offensive or adult content. Your participation in this study does not involve any physical risk to you; however, it is possible that filling out the questionnaires may be uncomfortable for some individuals. If this happens to you, you may stop at any time.
